It’s kind of sad how spilling a tiny bit red wine on your shirt can ruin it forever, no matter how expensive it was. I always wondered how long it would take for somebody to develop some kind of fabric that never gets stained or one that clean itself and we never have to wash. Well, it looks like we are getting closer to having something like that very soon as this young guy named Aamir Patel claims to have developed a T-Shirt that repels any kind of liquid stains.
He call this T-shirt “Silic,” which actually makes sense as it was made using silica particles. So, how does this T-shirt stop stains? Apparently, it uses Hydrophobic Nanotechnology to repel stains from sweat and drinks. “Most liquid molecules will not be able to touch the fabric because of a microscopic layer of air that forms between the liquid and fabric. This is because the fabric is layered with billions of silica particles. Water based liquids will form a 150 degree sphere and roll right off!”

Patel launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise necessary funds to bring this T-shirt into production, and it was a massive success. The project has managed to raise over $90k within just a couple of days and has surpassed its $20k funding goal. According to Mashable, Patel already has plans to get this T-shirts in stores around the world.
