This Model Updated the Exposed Underwear Trend for the Red Carpet

Slick Woods has had quite a year, whether it's appearing as one of the faces for Rihanna's Fenty Beauty line or modeling in Marc Jacobs's Fall 2017 campaign. On top of that, she was shot by Tim Walker for the 2018 edition of Pirelli's infamous calendar, and last night, as she celebrated its launch, she used a red carpet trick that gave Kendall Jenner a run for her money.
This Model Updated the Exposed Underwear Trend for the Red Carpet
Woods appeared in a see-through gown that, while providing strategic cover-up in the front with a wavy string of marabou feathers, bared almost all in the back—except for the model's black high-waisted undergarment. This follows the recent reappearance of exposed thongs on the red carpet and off: Most famously, Jenner wore a bejeweled see-through gown for this year's Met Gala, featuring a low-draped back that showed off the model's black undergarment (if the minimal coverage of her version can really be called a "garment").
Woods's take consisted of a bit more fabric than Jenner's edition, with a wide waistband that reminds more of a boy short. Its high fit, matched with the gown's classic polka dots, gives the ensemble a vintage feel. The model's orange buzzcut (and matching brows!) gave the look an updated edge. New Collection
