This is the site analysis of my newest project; Velo City. The main concept is to design a building to allow for cycle storage, maintenance facilities, cycle hire, a river taxi system and hostel in the center of York, England.
The initial analysis of the site, studies time taken to reach services as a pedestrian. The top row of diagrams shows time taken according to thickness of line; the thickest line shows the area can be reached within 2 mins, and this diminishes down to 10 minutes. The second row shows this relationship, but using the street name as the thickness, rather than the street path. This allows you to easily identify how quickly you can reach a particular street. The bottom row, converts this into an isograph, with the inner black circle showing the area than can be walked in 2 minutes and so on.
