Our first semester project was based in the Kop Van Zuid area of Rotterdam, a peninsula south of the River Maas. The project, entitled 'Manhattan on the Maas' focused on creating a new skyscraper for the city. My project, heavily inspired by Delirious New York, looked at the creation of a Spherical Skyscraper full of the various tourist sites of Rotterdam. The site is directly adjacent to the Cruise Terminal where many visitors enter the city for just one day, hence part of the inspiration for the project.
