On October 6, 1945, William Sianis attends Game 4 of the World Series with his pet goat in an attempt to promote his bar, the Billy Goat Tavern. However, when ushers insist that the goat must leave Wrigley Field, Sianis places a curse on the Chicago Cubs to prevent them from ever winning the World Series again.
Today marks 69 years since the curse was placed, and since that day, the Cubs have yet to even win the NL pennant.
