This But That

By Jessicavenoy @lovelyjesscuh
I came home from work to find Buck busted out of his cage and a massive pile of diarrhea on the carpet (nice visual, yeah?). Not exactly something to get excited over. I was storming around the apartment cleaning up the mess, when all the sudden I realized how much I was overreacting.
I mean obviously I'm not going to be doing cartwheels over what happened, but I really didn't need to get as upset as I did. Buck obviously had an upset stomach (reaction to new treats) and was trying to get out of the apartment to do his business.
As I sat scrubbing up dog poop (good times) I had a revelation. I'm supposed to be thankful in all circumstances. Yeah, I've heard that over and over again, but when something annoying/frustrating/not awesome happens is my time to shine and actually act thankful.
I came home from work to a pile of dog poop.
BUT
I have a job to go to everyday and a home to come home to every night.
I start school tomorrow, so I'll be working and going to school at the same time (my head is spinning already).
BUT
I have the opportunity to go back to school and go after my dream of teaching elementary school.
I felt like a busted can of biscuits no matter what outfit of mine that I tried on yesterday.
BUT
I have a full closet of clothes to wear.
I was really tired and unmotivated during my workout this morning.
BUT
I have a healthy body that is capable of performing high intensity workouts.
It's freaking hot outside and I start sweating as soon as I walk out of my apartment.
BUT
I'm able to walk outside freely and enjoy the fresh air.
I decided to spare y'all and not post a picture of Buck's mess. So instead I'll show you what I enjoyed last night after clean up.
This But That
I really need to reevaluate the things that I complain about.
So yes, I'm thankful that I spent 20 minutes scrubbing dog poop off of my carpet tonight :)
