This Beautiful Campaign Will Make You Run & Hug Your Granny!

By Admincosmotales

Grandparents are truly a blessing. They give us unconditional love and affection. From knitting you pretty little sweaters to preparing your favorite dishes to binge on to giving you money to buy your much-desired items. Grandparents have done it all for you. Whether it was treating you for cough and cold with the " Dadi/Nani Maa's Nuskhe " or telling you stories and singing you songs of a time gone. They have always been there for you. Maybe they were not clicking photos, recording beautiful video, but they sure have made wonderful memories. Where? It is present in your heart.

But not everyone is that lucky. Some lost their grandparents even before they were born and some grandparents live so far away that they may not have even met their grandchildren. With family sizes shrinking, people settling abroad, and families just becoming disconnected, the hovering and comforting presence of grandparents is gone. Parents and children no longer share the bond that they did before due to their busy lives.

But take a look at this beautiful video:

Vodafone finally made the effort to sew the families back together. Vodafone is known for making touching, quirky, and emotional advertisements, beautiful video, and running social campaigns. Right from the little Pug that followed everywhere (from its Hutchison days) to Zoo Zoos that made us laugh, it has always added value to media. This is a collaborative project between Vodafone and Storywallahs.

What is #GiftAStory?

It started with the media campaign of #GiftAStory. It is to bridge the gap between generations through the medium of story-telling. Grandparents from different parts of India told their amazing stories over Video Chat that was displayed to school children. As you can see in the beautiful video, the stories are not only in English but in various regional languages.

Through this even those who don't have grandparents will not feel like they are missing out on anything. Furthermore, those who do have grandparents living, it will be an excuse for them to get back in touch with them. Therefore, the beautiful video will cement family relationships.

Even the parents who saw the beautiful video commented on how it brought back memories of their own childhood. Some parents of the children present called up their parents.

Who are the participants?

Grandparents from around the world are participants of this unique project. They are:

Mrs. Jhelum Paranjpe, a 65-year-old Odissi Dancer
Mr. Jayant, a 68-year-old Retired Engineer and Mrs. Jayant, a 75-year-old Retired Teacher
Mrs. D'Souza, who is a retired teacher and principal
Mr. Santanil Ganguly, who is a storyteller and 60-years-old.
Mrs. Rama Khandwala, a 91-year-old former freedom fighter

It is truly a blessing to grow up in a loving family. Having your grandparents around makes it even more beautiful. Mostly everyone has a fond memory associated with their grandparent, then why should future generations be robbed of the same?

These stories will definitely change the world for these little ones who can make a difference in the world. They will learn so much more about life and will no longer be deprived of love. Go ahead, watch the beautiful video and give your grandparent a tight hug.
