Things to Plan Once the Engagement is Official

By Alyssa Martinez @ItsMariaAlyssa

Whether you were the one who popped the question or the one who said yes to the proposal, you need to be aware of all of the planning that needs to be done from that moment on. To get from the engagement to the wedding date, you will need to be highly organized. Also, by having a good insight into everything that you need to do and plan for, you will find that you will not have to deal with as much anxiety.

Things to Plan Once the Engagement is Official

Shop for the Rings

If you happen to live in San Diego for example, you will want to search for a jewelry store with engagement rings San Diego CA residents rave about. Also, do not forget to consider the wedding bands. After all, the bride will most likely want her engagement ring and wedding ring to either be a total match or at least flow well with one another.

Get a Solid Budget in Place

Before you can do much in the way of planning, you will need to know what your budget is. A good thing to do is to find out what the average costs for weddings are in your area, as some regions tend to be more expensive than others. Then you will need to consider the size of your guest list and how fancy you want your wedding to be. Decisions such as using a professional photographer or a caterer, or asking family and friends to help instead, will have a lot to do with how much you will need to have for your wedding budget.

Look for Places to Rent

Think about all of the times in which you will need to rent a venue for your wedding. It is not just your actual wedding day that you need to be concerned about. You will also have the engagement party, bachelor and bachelorette parties, wedding ceremony, and wedding reception. Whether you want all of these events to take place at different locations, or you want to use the same place each time, you will want to make your reservations as soon as you have a date for each event. This way, you won't have to worry about competing with another wedding for the dates that will work the best for you. If you wait too long, there is a good chance you might have to find a backup plan.

Get Prim and Proper

It is important to make sure that you are treating yourself to some extras. This will include doing everything from changing your eating habits to having your teeth whitened. You will also want to go for a manicure and pedicure so you are looking and feeling your best on your big day. If you have spoiled yourself in a while, you might want to start going for regular pedicures now, as it can take a few of them to finally get your feet into the best condition possible.

It should be easy enough to see that you have a lot of things that need to be planned out. Start by writing a list of everything that you need to do and buy in a notebook. You can also find a wedding planning journal that can help guide you through the process an keep track of all of your important plans. The sooner you start planning your big day, the easier it will be for you to remain calm and truly enjoy the entire experience.
