It's now official: Theo Epstein has resigned as Red Sox GM to take over as president of baseball operations for the Cubs.
The teams agreed on compensation for Theo's move, but no further word is coming until Tuesday, due to the World Series, when both teams will hold press conferences. Ben Cherington is expected to be named Red Sox GM then.
Thanks for everything, Theo, especially for the glorious years of 2004 and 2007.
