Yesterday, Elie Wiesel died (September 30, 1928 - July 2, 2016). He was one of a kind -- a warrior for human rights and a conscience for the world. A survivor of both Buchenwald and Auschwitz concentration camps, he became a professor, an author, an activist, and a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize (1986). The Nobel Committee called him a "messenger to mankind", and that's exactly what he was -- a messenger for peace, human dignity, and equal rights for all.The picture of Wiesel at left is from a celebration for President Obama's inauguration in 2009.
