It’s official The Punisher will be a part of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. It was announced earlier this week that The Walking Dead and The Wolf of Wall Street star Jon Bernthal, who played Shane froms season 1 rhrough 2 will be playing The Punisher. The Punisher is a vigilante who aims to clean up New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen by any means necessary, no matter how lethal the results. According to Marvel’s Head of television Jeph Loeb discussed why they choose Jon.
“Jon Bernthal brings an unmatched intensity to every role he takes on, with a potent blend of power, motivation and vulnerability that will connect with audiences,” said Loeb. He also stated, “Castle’s appearance will bring dramatic changes to the world of Matt Murdock and nothing will be the same.” Marvel’s DareDevil” Season 2 will appear on Netflix in 2016.
