My Mother’s Father served in the Korean War. My Dad’s Dad was a radio controller for supply planes in World War II. Hank’s Grandfather on his Mother’s side retired as a Lieutenant Colonel and served 2 tours in Vietnam. His Dad’s dad served in Korea. Neither of our fathers had to go to war. My dad was actually eligible for the draft but was too tall…seriously. He’s 6’8″ and they told him that he would be too large of a target.
Then, a few years ago, my Husband’s brother joined the Army and served a long tour in Afghanistan.
What a miracle that they all came home.
Here’s to these brave men, and all the men and women who have so faithfully and selflessly served our country.
Ronald K. Nabb, U.S. Marines, Korea
