The Vault: Oasis - 'Going Nowhere'

Time for another edition of a brand new feature. While Track Of The Day brings you new music and Rewind takes you back 20 years, The Vault deals in amazing songs from random points in musical history. RW/FF will keep these posts short and sweet, with only a small bit of basic info. All you have to do is press play and enjoy.

Those who were around at the time will no doubt remember the massive hype surrounding the release of the third Oasis album 'Be Here Now'. An in-depth article I wrote about the album can be found HERE. This Friday (October 14) sees the long-awaited release of the deluxe edition of the album, which also features B sides, rarities and the much anticipated Mustique demos of the songs, which will finally give us a glimpse into what the songs could have been like if they weren't buried underneath a gargantuan wall of noise and elongated to excessive lengths. This gorgeous, gracefully arranged track finds the band in a more humble mode, and finds Noel Gallagher dreaming of a better life away from the grim suburbs of Manchester. It was apparently written before Oasis were given a record deal, and originally appeared as a B side to the classic 1997 single 'Stand By Me'.
