Story: The Union starts when super-spy Roxanne Hall (Berry) turns to her childhood sweetheart Mike (Wahlberg) for her latest mission. He must go through a training routine before being taken into the field for the latest mission.
The pair head into the field to track the international criminal who has the records of every person who has helped outside of the US. However, the mission has problems and Mike must learn to think on his feet and adapt to this new world.
Verdict on The Union
The Union is an action comedy following a secret spy who recruits her old childhood sweetheart. They operate as a blue-collar government group that deals with international criminals. However, the mission goes wrong and the pair must deal with it without any support.
This movie brings two A-listers to an action comedy with Mark Wahlberg and Halle Berry. However, they seem to struggle to show chemistry, and the story ends up following everything you expect. It puts them in the typical situation where the trained spy does most of the heavy lifting. While the outsider’s smarts click to solve other problems. The action feels safe, and the comedy misses more than it hits. It ends up feeling like a watchable movie, but one you would soon forget.
Where to Watch
The Union is available on Netflix now.
Final Thoughts – The Union is a by-the-book action comedy.
