The Trans European Footrace 2012 – Day 15

The Trans European Footrace 2012 is the longest stage race in Europe this year. Starting in Skagen in Denmark on August 19th 2012 the race will finish 64 days later in Gibraltar.
Today is day 16 of the 64 stages and the number of competitors has been reduced from 49 starters to 38.

Leading the race is Frenchman Stéphane Pelissier who has placed first in all but two of the stages. Those two have been won by Henry Wehder, currently lying in fourth place. Second place is German Robert Wimmer and in third place is Norwegian Trond Sjavik. Neil Bryant is in 9th place, the only British runner taking part.

Leading lady is Rita Buiten from the Netherlands, currently lying 12th overall. Second lady is Kazuko Kaihata from Japan and third is Heike Pawzik from Germany.

Todays stage takes them to the center of Germany about 100 km east of Frankfurt from Zeitlofs to Dettelbach 81.6 km /50.7 miles and totals 1138.6 km /707.5 miles complete so far.
