The Adelaide Hills is full of leafy lanes, charming villages, and plenty of quaint drinking spots.

Known for being one of the top wine-growing regions of Australia, many visit the hills for a weekend of lavish wine experiences. Heading to the towns of Aldgate, Stirling, Oakbank, Birdwood, Crafers, Mount Barker and Hahndorf to discover the best drops of red, white, and bubbly around. Whether you’re looking for the perfect spot for an evening hideaway or a quick stop off, these drinking spots are sure to leave you satisfied.

The Crafers Hotel

A delightful place to enjoy the Australian wine while it’s paired with a mouth-watering menu of French-inspired cuisine. The Head chef Stephane was raised on a free-range pig farm in the French countryside, so every cuisine has a story behind it. The staggering wine list is most impressive, with the bottles coming out of Crafers Hotel’s very own wine room. The rich wood and leather of the interior make for a cosy drink spot to park yourself at after a day of driving about!

Lost in the Woods

A fantastic wine bar and pizzeria to enjoy for a sunny afternoon spot! The building was once a rustic church, now converted into this stylish restaurant and bar. With stained glass windows, historic woodwork, and plenty of cosy seating, this venue is perfect for an enchanting finish to your Adelaide Hills adventure. Providing outdoor seating and a lawn lazing area for the summertime, you can enjoy the wood fire pizzas as you make you way down the wine list available.

Bridgewater Inn

What better way to relax with a drink than right next to a trickling creek? The Bridgewater Inn features an open fire and shady vine-covered pergolas, being in a historic pub that has been around for decades. Revamped in style, with the Inn now offering an extensive a la carte menu as well as some of the best wine brands the hills have to offer!

Hahndorf Inn

It is by far one of the most popular spots in Adelaide Hills, with Hanhdorf offering plenty of charm to everyone who visits. One of the first German settlements in Australia, Hanhdorf has german inspired food, buildings, and cultures, with this Inn included! Park yourself at a table and enjoy mountainous piles of bockwurst, weisswurst, kransky, pork schnitzel, pork hock and sauerkraut, washing it down with the best German beer on offer!
