If you were asked right now to write down a list of the appliances that you feel you couldn’t do without every single day within your Australian household, you have to wonder how long the list would be. If you really sit down and think about it for a moment and chart your day starting with the alarm clock getting you up first thing in the morning and the coffee machine making you your first brew, you would have a pretty long list on your hands and that’s just within the first few hours of your life.
We all enjoy our modern lifestyle and the fact that we can turn to any electrical appliance like our trusty toaster to provide us with the crispy brown bread that we like to have first thing in the morning with our jam or peanut butter. There have been many inventions over the years that promise to make our lives easier and they have certainly delivered. The following are just some of the top appliances that every Australian household needs this year and every year.
- The ever-reliable alarm clock – This is the one device that makes sure that you get up in time to get ready for work and it is also the cue to get the kids out of bed because they have to go to school as well. It’s likely that everyone has an alarm clock in their bedroom that comes in many different shapes and sizes but it still does its job nonetheless.
- The trusty toilet – This is one of the busiest appliances that we have in our homes and it is used a lot during the morning and evening times when everyone is getting ready for bed. The fact that we can now enjoy bathrooms on the inside is much different from life back in the 1950s and 60s. We expect our toilets to function for us without issue and 99% of the time, they do that very thing.
- The irreplaceable fridge – This is a modern means that every Australian home has and we really wouldn’t be able to live without it at all. It is where we keep our favorite food including our dairy products and our meat as well. We do keep our beers in there so that they are nice and cool when we return home from work in the evenings. Modern fridges are more environmentally friendly and so they use less energy.
- The washing machine – This is something that really makes our lives easier and we just take our dirty clothes, put them in the machine, press a button and then everything else is done for us. Some washing machines even come with a dry function so they are washed, rinsed and dried all at once.
This is just a short list of the many appliances that are used in any Australian home on any given day. We haven’t even spoken about the television, the smartphone and the coffee maker.
