We all know that Hispanic Heritage Month is from September 15th - October 15th, right? It is a wonderful prelude to celebrating all of the fall and winter holidays: Halloween, Dia De Los Muertos, Thanksgiving and Christmas, and just another opportunity for us to share our culture with our children.
This year, I am joining fellow Texas Latino Bloggers and showing our Hispanic pride! Follow along on this blog tour that will take you from San Antonio, to Houston, San Angelo, Corpus Christi, Dallas and back again! You will get to read a new blog post just about every day of the week, all throughout Hispanic Heritage Month!
And to kick us off, I wanted to share a quote from one of my favorite voices, Maria Hinojosa from Latino USA, The Latino List and The Futuro Media Group.
Also, I'd like to mention that as we honor our culture this Hispanic Heritage Month, let's also remember the power of our vote. Let’s show up and represent our families and at the polls and seek what is best for our community as a whole. You can register to vote and activate your networks atwww.latinos2014.com.
There’s a lot at stake in the November 4th election. All 435 House seats, 33 seats in the Senate, 36 governors, and 46 state legislatures will be on ballots across the U.S.
So, let's get this month of celebrating and mobilizing started!
