The #SuperBowl: More Than Just A Game! Guest Post from Healthy Living by Quinn
By Take A Bite Out Of Boca @shaywiz
Game Day is just around the corner, two days away to be exact. This may be when the freak-outs start for those of you planning to host your own little soiree in celebration of the Denver Broncos vs. Seattle Seahawks. I really could care less about the game. Unless my Eagles are there, it doesn't matter to me who wins. Sorry I'm not sorry! For me, and probably a lot of you as well, the Super Bowl is about much more than big sweaty men rolling all over the ground with each other. It's totally social for me. Friends coming together to hang out and have a good time...funny and ground-breaking commercials...and of course food. The men can sit and watch the game, but what about the party-goers who aren't all"First Down!" this and"Touchdown!" that? For you, I give you Quinn, a healthy living enthusiast who came to me in hopes of being able to give my readers some Super Bowl Party tips to ensure you throw the best party ever. Make sure to stop by and give Quinn some love on herblog!
More Than a Football Game
The Super Bowl will be here
before you know it, so now is the time to start planning your party.
Unfortunately, achieving just the right atmosphere and selecting the most
satisfying food to suit everyone’s tastes can be difficult. In order to meet
the needs of all your party-goers, here are some tips I’ve found have helped for
throwing the perfect Super Bowl party.
Easy Appetizers and Drinks
Find something to serve which you
know can’t go wrong. For me, that’s my Bacon-Wrapped Meatballs. Not only is it
quick and easy to make, but it’s an appetizer dish that gets rave reviews every
time I serve it. Check out a great recipe here.
Create the perfect cocktail to accompany your food. My favorite choice for the
Super Bowl is Linebacker Limeade, and everyone loves it both for its name and
because it’s delicious. It only requires three ingredients, and I can make
pitchers of it quickly and easily. See my go to recipe at this
site.
Break Out That Awesome Dish
Use those unique or meaningful
serving dishes that you don’t always get to use. I especially enjoy serving my
guests using the casserole dish my husband got me several years ago from here in
appreciation for hosting such successful parties. Both the dish and the parties
have become traditions in our home.
Fun Activities
Fourth, do something to add a
little non-football fun to your party. One idea is to have a karaoke contest
sometime during the game. This takes a little planning, as guests need to come
prepared with a song choice; however, it’s as simple as plugging in an iPod and
letting your guests do the entertaining. Add to the fun by giving prizes to the
winners.
Commercials Are The Best Part!
Finally, remember that the Super
Bowl is not just about football. For some, the commercials are the best part of
the experience, so create a little competition that everyone can enjoy. Have
each guest vote for his or her favorite commercial: at the end of the game,
tally up the votes and see who voted for your group’s favorite commercial.
Awarding small prizes to the winners will always be appreciated.
The Super Bowl is more
than a football game; it’s an opportunity for you to create a memorable
experience for your family and your guests. Take advantage of these tips for
food, drink and fun to make your preparations easier and to ensure that your
party is unforgettable.
Thanks, Quinn, for these awesome party tips. I hope it has been helpful to those of you hosting a Super Bowl party this Sunday!
