If saving time, closing more cases and boosting your profits is important to you, then you need to know the vital element for greater success: patient education. Patient education is absolutely essential to successfully delivering treatment.
If your hygienists are educating patients about their oral health problems and the consequences that will follow if not treated, then you will deliver more treatment and have more satisfied patients.
The single most important and effective tool your hygienist can use when it comes to educating, presenting and closing cases for your patients, is an intraoral camera.
When patients can clearly see and tangibly connect to the reality of their condition, their motivation to take action increases considerably. In the event they do not accept treatment right away, they can take their pictures with them, which serves as a reminder to not postpone treatment for long.
Using the intraoral camera to educate patients allows you and your hygienist to shift from “selling” to permitting patients to assume responsibility for their own health by choosing to be healthier and following through with your recommended dental treatment.
