Leisurely lunches are just the best and especially so when it is a pretty gray and damp day outside. Nothing nicer than sitting inside with crackling log fires and very comfortable chairs, is there? It’s been a while since we had been down to the borders so we popped down to have a look around and ended up for lunch at The Roxburghe Hotel which by the way is also another Chez Roux …. We seem to be following them around quite a lot these days, total accident, promise. I do love visiting the ladies’ in nice places, and especially in country house hotels or places like Prestonfield House as they always have very pretty little quirks and details. Plus it’s always really lovely when you go somewhere and they have proper hand towels to dry your hands with, very civilised. Wandering back to the table (in the library) having passed a beautiful crackling fire in the hallway we sat down and looked over the menu whilst enjoying a delicious crisp white.
