A start to learn English language while in preschool has now being supported with pragmatic methods through experimental-design instructions. This experiment was conducted somewhere in a poor urban location in the Philippines, wherein the preschooler kids were set pretests that are separated into 3 groups:
- Monolingual Filipino
- Monolingual English
- Bilingual
During the 8 weeks program of studies, the preschooler kids were taught about various skills of literacy, and after, they were directed to post tests. To see the result of the said experiment via script-dependent hypothesis and central processing the data was evaluated and analyzed thoroughly. The effect showed the following results:
First result: On preschoolers’ literacy skills, the monolingual instruction both in English or Filipino had a stronger cause compared to instruction for bilingual.
Second result: On preschoolers’ literacy skills, the mother tongue-based (MTB) instruction had a stronger effect weigh against to second-language instruction.
Conclusion: The results contain implication not just for the mother tongue-based but as well as for the instruction in English as a second language (ESL) use in the country.
