Dreams came true for Manchester New Wave band The Radio Set when they drove South to Macclesfield in Cheshire to record their new single Gotta Crush on You at Edge Studios with Peter Hook (Joy Divison, New Order) in the producer's seat. Under his tutelage they spend ten days tweaking the sound and feel for what will be the lead single for their forthcoming Ep#2.
Leave it to Hook to get flawless bass and drums sound. With lead singer Karen putting her pop skills to good use and guitarist Chris playing chopped notes to create a dancefloor friendly vibe. With false ending to enable the crowd to catch their breath, Gotta Crush on You brings back that was good in the early Eighties: it's smart and catchy as Hell. If they blue-eyed guy that she met at a drive-in about doesn't fall in love with her after hearing this, he should seek professional help as soon as possible.
