The Post-Burn DIY
It's a sad moment when you favorite candle splutters out of life, and sadly it happened to my beloved Jo Malone Wild Lily candle at the weekend (yes, I am aware that I sound completely obsessed with candles, I'm completely sane really, promise). However, I remembered a pin that had caught my eye a couple of months back about removing the wax from candles once they have burnt out. With this in mind I trawled through my pinterest account, trying to find it and thankfully did!
I wasn't expecting it be easy but it took me all of 5 mins, the instructions are, quite simply to boil a kettle and pour it into the candle. This melts the wax instantly so it floats to the top in a kind of oily looking slick, cools and then you can just lift it off. Simples! I then decided to crumble the wax into a little pot and remelt it with a new wick so that I didn't waste any of it, and filled the old jar up with cotton wool buds and sat it on my dressing table where it looks super pretty.
Now that my little DIY is done, I can't wait to start burning more candles up (not too quickly though 'cos they're darn expensive little things) ... can you guess what's top of my christmas list?
