PS4 games can now be pre-loaded, so if you drop your cash down for a PSN pre-order, you can start playing as soon as the game releases. This pretty much justifies my switch to digital only, if and only if my hard drive fails, I'll go back to physical media.
The feature is only supported by ten PS4 games so far; you can see the list below, courtesy of the PlayStation Blog. But as of May 10, all pre-orders on the PlayStation Store for PS3 and PS4 will support pre-loading.
This is a perk that’s been available on the PS3 for a while now, but it isn’t very widely supported and has only just come to PS4. The PS4 version includes a countdown timer.
