The Peninsula Beverly Hills has been voted the top large city hotel in the Continental U.S. in the Travel + Leisure 2013 World’s Best Awards readers’ survey. The results of the celebrated annual survey will be featured on the cover of the August issue ofTravel + Leisure®, on travelandleisure.com and within the publication’s digital editions on iPad®, Nook Color™, and Kindle Fire™.

A snapshot of travel experiences that resonated with readers throughout the year, the Travel + LeisureWorld’s Best Awards are awarded to the finest hotels, destinations and companies around the world. Hotel rankings are based on readers’ ratings on five characteristics: rooms/facilities, location, service, restaurants/food and value. For each characteristic, respondents were asked to rate a candidate on a scale of 1 to 5, where “1″ means poor and “5″ means excellent. Required component ratings were averaged, creating an overall score.
