The One Light Project #1111

By Thedivadoll @marlenefrierson
Instagram, I don't think I honestly know anyone who doesn't either have one or know about it. If you are the select percentage that doesn't know what Instagram is, well let me enlighten you :)
Instagram is an app that started out for IPhone's but is now available on android devices. Think of it as the new Twitter, but with pictures instead of words.
At first, I must admit, I was like, "Great another social media outlet to keep me glued to my phone".
As a blogger, I was inclined to create an account as I have to be able to network on all sources of Social Media. Low and behold I am now an "INSAADDICT" (Instagram-Addict). Posting pics up of everything!
One day while going through all of my pictures, ( as I'm writing this, I am currently at 1,107 pictures posted). Uhm, yea ... moving on.
I noticed that people tend to "like" certain pictures and take the time out of their day to sit there and constantly scroll to see what's on the timeline. We even go as far as checking the hashtags of other people's pictures to see what they mean and what picture is associated.
While scrolling one day looking at other people's pictures, a certain hashtag caught my attention ... #11:11. I clicked on it and saw there were hundreds of pictures associated with this hashtag.
Now in past knowings, 11:11 has always been a time that you noticed when looking up at the clock and realizing it was 11:11 so in turn you made a wish.
But I noticed something about the pictures associated with these 11:11, they had meaning somehow.
As the days progressed, I began seeing it more and more. Even to the point that I was noticing, I was stopping what I was doing at exactly 11:11 and taking a picture of whatever was in front of me and posting it, following the hashtags of the pictures I've seen before.
It was that moment that when I posting my picture a smile ran across my face when I realized something. Someone, anyone, everyone that knew about this was doing the same thing I was doing. That was so heart warming to me. On one of my pictures with the hashtags, one of the "Light Workers" said Thank you!
One of my friends even asked me, what does #1111 mean? I was honest and said I didn't know, but I said my interpretation of it is this; at 11:11am and 11:11pm you take a picture of whatever you are doing and post it on Instagram adding the following hashtags; #1111, #donateyourself & #theonelightproject. I believe that it was a time of day that would make everyone for 1 minute out of the day stop what they were doing, take moment to breathe and just realize your surrounding and capture that moment. And know that someone else in the world was doing the exact same thing. I thought that was pretty amazing.
It was then that one of the Light Workers responded saying I was pretty close and that all will be told soon. Ever since then, I have been posting and hastaging my pictures.
I have become quite fond of the whole project and thought this was something amazing to be doing, and wanted to share it with my readers.
I got in contact with the head "Light" and told her I wanted to do a feature on the project.

The beautiful Karalie Sevilla spear headed the movement and this is what she told me:
"I came across this article entitled "11:11" and found out that 11:11 is actually a network of unexposed people, whose #1 mission in life is to emit as much positive light into the universe by working as a union... as "one."

I've got to tell you; These guys have so much positivity in their hearts and minds, we need more people like them in the world,
They have composed a video that explains what everyone has been asking; What is The One Light Project?
Watch below to see these amazing Light workers explain what it is, and I hope you join the movement in shining your light, and spreading that light & positivity for all to see!
If you haven't noticed, I decided to make this post go live at 11:11pm on World AIDS Day, a day that is close to my heart, so this is my way of shining my light for all of my loved ones that lost the battle, and for all of my loved ones that are continuing to live their lives battling this disease.
