The "grunge look" has taken on a whole new fashion look for 2013. It has brought on a new meaning to the term "grunge". I would call it glamour grunge. Fashion Designers like Saint Laurent, Dries Van Noten, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and House of Holland, have brought a new flavor to the mix of grunge style. From pattern mixing, to flocked ruffled metallics.
Back in 1990's; Grunge was associated with attitude, music bands, self-expression. But today, the trend went from being a baby in fashion, to being polished luxurious glamorous fashion style.
I used the fashion collage below to illustrate how Saint Laurent used black velvet and gold metallic thread to create this designer "Black Velvet & Gold Flocked Dress" in this NEO Grunge Trend. By adding some ruffling, and a wrap effect in this gorgeous ruffled metallic flocked silk-blend dress. I think it's stunning.
