Singer-songwriter Laura Burhenn and producer Richard Swift came up with well received album Waht We Lose Iin the Fire We Gain in the Flood in 2010. Once again using The Mynabirds banner, their sophomore release Generals is a protest record wrapped in lush orchestrations.

Taking cues from Sixties pop (Radiator Sister, Buffalo Flower and title track Generals) and modern day electronic indie - Body Of Work, Disaster, this album is far more political lyrically. The soft melancholy Zen sound of their debut album get an outing during Mightier Than the Sword. Their sound might be quite the opposite of the lonely guy with an acoustic guitar warning the war mongers for the very last time, The Mynabirds are dead serious. Smart pop for serious people.
