The Music Museum Of New England Launches the Boston Music Trail

By Notlobmusic @notlobmusic

From Steve Nelson:
"The Music Museum Of New England is launching the Boston Music Trail with a marker at Aerosmith’s apartment at 1325 Comm. Ave. in Brighton, where the band lived and rehearsed together when they first moved to Boston in 1971. Celebrating the release of its new record, Aerosmith will arrive at the site at noon on Monday, November 5, playing live on a flatbed truck. Boston Mayor Thomas Menino and MMONE’s Steve Nelson will unveil the marker, the first of several to honor sites significant to the musical history of the city. The launch of the Trail is made possible by a grant from Ernie Boch Jr.’s Music Drives Us Foundation. MMONE operates a virtual museum at www.mmone.org."

About Music Museum of New EnglandThis site is a work in progress to build an extensive online archive aggregating all kinds of material, written and multimedia, about New England’s musical heritage. We’ll be continually adding new information, images, and audio and video clips, so check back regularly. We’ll also link you to the many other relevant sites out there on the Web. And we strongly encourage you to help build this archive by clicking the “You Too” key, and contributing your anecdotes and other material. In addition to this site, MM/ONE will produce media, special events and traveling exhibits. And our long-term dream is to build a bricks-and-mortar facility with a visitors center and a physical archive to preserve acquired and donated artifacts. We have two simple criteria for including someone or something in this museum: to have been involved professionally with music in New England at least 15 years ago, and to have made a substantial contribution to the music of this region. The Music Museum Of New England, Inc. is a non-profit organization operated by a Board of Directors.
