the Most Perfect Mop Ever

By Lindsayleighbentley @lindsayLbentley

I have always loved the idea of a Swiffer.  It’s quick, convenient, done.  And those commercials with the adorable older couple are so awesome.  However, I don’t like the wastefulness of the disposable pads or the chemicals found in the Swiffer cleaner.

Which is why I LOVE this mop.  It was a gift to me from my mom right after Etta was born…she knows me well.  She also knows my house well.  There is always some kind of food, kid, or dog mess being made, and I really like for things to stay clean!  So, thanks to Mom, gone are the days of crawling around on my hands and knees to “quick mop” messes several times a day!

It’s perfect to me for 3 reasons:

1. It’s ready to go – like the Swiffer, you just grab it, mop, and you’re done.

2. It has washable cleaning pads – no waste, and it comes with three so you always have one handy!  They also sell a dry dust mop pad as well.

3. It has a refillable bottle so you can use your own healthy cleaners!  It comes with two so I keep the extra one under the sink, already filled and ready to go so I never run out.

4. It’s only $30.  I mean, I’ve spent more on an impulse purchase at Costco, and for something that I use daily, this mop is a no-brainer!

Oh, whups, Four.  So, four reasons why I love this thing.

Here’s what I put in mine:

  • purified water (I use water from my Berkey filter)
  • 1/8 C. (ish) of white vinegar (no need to measure)
  • 5-10 drops essential oillavender (for a wonderful smell),  tea tree (for disinfecting power) peppermint (natural bug/ant repellant) or eucalyptus (natural spider repellant), or a mixture of any/all of these!  Don’t be afraid to experiment with your own – lemon would be a nice one as well as rosemary or basil…yum.

Beats commercial artificially scented cleaners any day!

**I have wood floors with a hard polyurethane seal so this works fine.  Once we move and have wood floors without that coat of lacquer I will use only water and essential oils as vinegar can cause unsealed wood to warp**

You can order the mop HERE through Amazon.

You can find all of the essential oils I listed at Young Living (use my sponsor code 1404324), or on Amazon!

My kids actually fight over using this thing, which is fine by me!

And you thought I was crazy for saying I loved a mop, didn’t you?  You will too, serious.

live well. be well.
