5 STARSI became enamored with Riley on page one and enjoyed every minute I spent devouring the book. Riley and her dad have a very strong, loving relationship that is so refreshing from the normal Teenage “I hate my parents” spiel. There were issues between father and daughter but somehow they both tried hard to become better people in spite of their individual flaws.
The story was riveting. Riley has the unusual power to see ghosts and since her father is a mortician; he unknowingly sometimes brings them home with him. Riley and her dad just recently moved to a smallish town and Riley wants desperately to fit in and be liked at school but that is not so easily accomplished, it seems.
I enjoyed the writing style and loved the way in which the story unfolded. For me, the romance definitely played second fiddle to the mystery and suspense aspects of the tale - just the way I like it.
This is a great start to an exciting and unusual series with fabulous characters facing some real life problems and Riley dealing with all that and the supernatural. I recommend it highly!

5 STARSThe second book picks up immediately from where the first one ended. I did not honestly expect to like this book as much as I enjoyed the first one after reading the blurb. I just did not think the story could get much better. I was mistaken. I read Two Feet Under with the same passion and intensity as the first one. The story was even more intense and the stakes higher than ever. This series is superb and I am really looking forward to the third installment of this fascinating adventure.
