Last Sunday me and the boy decided that, even though we had piles of work to do, since the sun was shining it would be silly not to go out. We didn’t want to stray to far because if we did we knew we would be out all day long, so we decided on brunch at Broadway Market in East London. Now this is our usual trip on a Saturday when the market is in full swing but we always see lots of little cafes so we thought why not! We walked further down than we usually do, we normally just turn around when the stalls stop on a market day, and stumbled upon The Market Cafe, we took a quick peek at the menu and both nodding our head in glee we asked for a table.
The Market Cafe is like some sort of ripped apart pub, it’s airy, light and has beautiful wooden floors. The rose wall paper and exposed brick walls fight against each other in a good way and hipster just oozes out of the walls.
Together me and the boy made up brunch, he went for the breakfast, full English; with extra bacon and sausage, and I went for the lunch, pea and pecorino risotto, with a side of Burrata. Mine was scrummy, apart from it came on a plate and it was almost spilling over the sides which was a little odd, and “L’s” was huge , he happily devoured it all and was a happy chap at the end guzzling down his bloody mary, so I take that as a good sign.
After eating our fair share of food we paid our very lovely waitress (note the waiter we had was not so lovely) and headed towards London fields where we par tuck in a nice cold cider and a little bit of sun before heading home to sit on the balcony and get back to the grind.
