When I think of hilarious mommy style bloggers, there is one gal who always sticks out in my mind. Yep, you guessed it. It's none other than the sensational Grace of Camp Patton! Grace has four the of cutest, squishiest little babes, and she talks about motherhood in an honest, refreshing and humorous way. And also, she obviously shows us how to dress cute as a mom.
But, as we all know, outfit photos don't magically take themselves. I want to introduce you to her other half and photog extraordinaire, Simon Patton. When Simon isn't busy taking Grace's photos for her blog, he is completing his medical school residency. A man of many talents, indeed! Anyway, enough of me rambling away. Here is what Simon has to say about the world of style blogging...
How long have you been the man behind the lens?
Ever since there was a lens. (About four and a half years)
How do you feel about your role as the outfit photographer?
I'm glad I can help out and although the photos turn out better than if our 4-year-old daughter took them, they often still need work. I think it's Grace's writing that makes her blog special so I don't really see my photos adding or detracting from the quality of the posts.
What goes through your mind when Grace asks you to take a picture of her outfit?
(He asks that you just embed this gif)
How many photos do you generally have to take?
(Silence) (laugh) Um .... a lot.
What's the most ridiculous thing Grace has asked you to photograph?
The repeat shots we always have to take long after I think we've gotten enough.
Is Grace bossy, or do you have a specific system down when taking photos?
No, not bossy. But she knows what she wants ...
What time of day do you usually take pictures?
Usually early evening when the lighting is best and the kids are melting down.
When Grace asks you to take the pictures are you:
a. happy and willing
b. begrudgingly doing it because you don't want to deal with the consequences of saying no
c. indifferent
d. none of the above
e. no comment
A combination of a. and b.
How would you describe Grace's sense of style?
Timeless with flares of current trends.
Do you have any other input or thoughts you would like to add?
Thanks for having me for my inaugural guest blog post!
No, thank you, Simon! It's easy to see why Grace and Simon make a good pair. Be sure to follow along with her blog (trust me, it's one you will want to add to your reader in the slim chance she isn't already on there) and Instagram to see photos of those aforementioned squishy kids!
