If there’s one word that immediately jumps into my mind when it comes to fall/winter fashion – it’s layering. Layering is an intentional way of dressing; it takes confidence and skill. It is a great way to get the most out of your wardrobe.

There are two cardinal rules of layering: one, never layer your bottom half, and two, start with finer, thinner materials and work your way out.Below are few of my layered looked;#PunIntended.

SCARF & JACKET

I find throwing a square scarf or a shawl over my shoulder transports me to an European city instantly. It also happens to be a chic layering trick with adds to an outfit without making it bulky or trying-too-hard.

AT HOME LAYERING

I am probably in the minority, but I have been dressing all thorough the 'demic. Albeit not always stylish, but at least I am not in my PJs. No matter what one might thing of my outfit choices when at home, I was still layering in early fall with a chambray shirt. It automatically elevates even a shabby outfit.

DENIM JACKETS

When the temperatures are not that low but still chilly, a denim jacket is a perfect layering piece. Plus it goes with all colors, all outfits, all occasions. You cannot go wrong with a denim jacket unless it has one too many holes and studs on it. Magic of Layering Tanvii.comTee | Joggers | Jacket | Shoes

COATS OVER BLAZERS

Who says outerwear should always be the last layer? Blazers, coats, jackets, but even leather jackets can function just as well as middle layers. Just try to choose a relatively lighter piece and pair it with an oversized coat. Magic of Layering Tanvii.comTee | Pants | Blazer | Coat | Shoes | Bag

MONOCHROME

Dressing head-to-toe in one color (or slightly different shades) can usually only work with different textures and fabrics that add depth and dimension to the clothes. Otherwise it can look too flat or overwhelming. Try mixing heavier and softer textures, like wool, silk, cotton, leather, or insert a different texture as the mid-layer.
