The Lighthouse, The Miles of Endless Ocean and A Lentils and Avocado Salad The Lighthouse.
The day we visited the lighthouse, weather was not the best. And it was not sunny or bright. Indeed! It was winter time. And I've been keeping these photos for a little longer than two months already. So today I can finally share our mini-tour to the lighthouse.
The day was cold and the sea breeze felt stronger than ever. And although I was trying to hold my camera as steady as possible, the wind kept shaking my arms and ruffling my hair every time I was about to take a picture. I started to laughed. It seemed as if the wind was playing a game with me!
We walked in the lighthouse and as soon as we closed the door, J. started to climb the stairs. He was all excited about it! Let's see how the sea looks from the top, he said. But I stood in front of the window amazed and almost speechless to see so much beauty through it. Something breath-taking.
The Ocean...
Miles and miles of sea, an endless view of turquoise color. Also the junction point with the Tasman sea, which creates a continuous formation of astounding foamy white waves that sounded like a relaxing symphony. A loud but delicate symphony of waves that I could not stop listening and contemplating over and over again.

As soon as we finished our exploring adventure, we started to climb down. J. first and then me {yes, photographic delays :)},I soon realized it was beginning to rain again. This time much stronger.
We've almost jumped into the car and immediately felt the need of some hot tea to warm ourselves up. And since I always like to carry a thermos full of tea and some sandwiches to have along the way {particularly when road traveling},we decided to have a quick winter picnic before heading back home.

While traveling home, something in the weather reminded me to my little province. It was the smell of rain, the sweet fragrance of wet soil that made me feel so close, yet so far away... from my roots.
And it was this joyful memory that took me to my Mother's brown lentils salad.Yes, the kind of salad that warms the body and soul.
I couldn't think in a more comforting dish to finish our day.Una ensalada tibia de lentejas! A warm lentils salad!
