The Konjac Sponge Co produce 100% biodegradable vegetable fiber sponge’s with a unique net-like structure. This gently massages the skin to stimulate blood flow and cell turnover and removes all traces of dirt and make-up with or without any cleanser. There are different options available depending on your skin type/needs. I’m trying out the Pink Clay enriched one which is best for dry and mature skin.
What is Konjac? Made from Konjac Potato or Konnyaku, first discovered in the Indochinese region that has been used for 1,500 years as a medicinal, food, dieting and beauty product. Naturally alkaline and pH neutral it leaves skin perfectly balanced for radiant skin. Gentle enough for sensitive skins and babies, the pure Konjac Sponges are the ultimate in natural, effective skin care.
How To Use It Rinse your Konjac Sponge in warm water, squeeze it out and gently cleanse your skin. (when it’s dry it shrinks and feels hard with an uneven surface, when hydrated it expands to a smooth round dome shape that feels soft on your skin) I like using circular movements, the sponge fits nicely into the palm of your hand. You don’t need to use a cleanser but can add a small amount if desired.
After use rinse your sponge well, and allow to dry in an airy place between uses. It has a handy little string loop to hang it up, I hang mine in my shower. It will last for about 3 months and then you need to replace it. You can add it to your garden compost after use.
Summary I really love using this natural sponge, I tend to use it in the mornings when I don’t have any make-up to remove. I use it without cleanser to give my face a nice gentle exfoliate and massage – feels so good. Then I use a cleanser which I remove in my usual way with a warm face flannel. I’m quite sure my skin is looking brighter since using it.
I will definitely re-purchase this sponge and try out some of the other types, in fact my husband tried it and loved it so I’ve got one for him too! Check them out
