When Swedish electronic masterminds and sibling duo, The Knife,  announced the release of their fourth studio record, they almost broke the internet with the Jaws-like frenzy that ensued. This week, the album has finally arrived in all its groundbreaking, weird, genius glory. Transforming themselves into icons by means of mystery and sheer creativity, they’ve wrapped their latest release in a sonic aura only they’re capable of creating. Also producing fever-inducing electronic magic is James Blake, who dropped his second full-length this week. Filled with sexy, R&B-tinged electronic slow jams, if you don’t love this record, then it’s only because you haven’t listened yet. LA Americana rockers, Dawes, are here with their third release, and you can always depend on them to be true to their talents — spot on songwriting and sweaty, strong melodies. The two bands on this list that are relatively new on the scene, Belle Mare and Wet, are two bands you really need to hear. We’ve been doting on Belle Mare’s dreamy, lush pop since first hearing it, and Wet’s new tracks had us falling all over ourselves and then some. Be sure to catch these bands at their start because they’re going to move quickly. Last on the list, but not at all the least, is Australian, experimental folk band, Villagers, whose gorgeous sound on {Awayland} is nothing short of a transportive treat.

 THE KNIFE – SHAKING THE HABITUAL

DAWES – STORIES DON’T END

JAMES BLAKE – OVERGROWN

BELLE MARE – THE BOAT OF THE FRAGILE MIND EP

WET – U DA BEST/BAD IDEA

VILLAGERS – {AWAYLAND}
