The Ideators, Executors & Real Makers of #CrashThePepsiIPL Challenge

When I was a student of advertising, the most interesting activity was to make a video advertisement. Making your own video advertisements sounds fun and involves active participation from an entire team. However the main ingredients of the best ad recipe, is a great idea teamed with excellent execution, so that the main product or service advertised gets maximum exposure, while connecting with the audience, and of course to make a place in their memory.Sounds a mouthful?
The Ideators, Executors & Real Makers of #CrashThePepsiIPL Challenge
#CrashThePepsiIPL has come up with a first-ever campaign where anybody can showcase their hidden creative gem by making a video advertisement for Pepsi. Well by anybody, I mean anybody,-"You,Me aur Hum." Here are some of the ads that I can recall for reasons specified against the pointers.
1.The Executors: Some ads has decent execution, but some how the idea is quite old and repetitive.

Pepsi Pilao, Ladki Patao, well that's the basic idea of this ad. A sad girl, abandoned by her boyfriend, sitting alone in a cafe and feeling depressed from the recent breakup, suddenly gets befriended with a Pepsi, by a young man, who was all the while watching her breakup process. Not bad, specially the way they show him carrying the pen-knife towards the girl. But Haven't we seen this idea from ages... like it is so easy to get a girl!!
Again this father-son duo looks interesting with their throwing things, specially the father's expression, but not long before the IPL started, we have seen the same idea with a husband-wife and milk packet trio.
2. The Idea-tors: These are some of the ads where the idea is quite innovative, but lack a good presentation.
This ad, where a man gets a visit from a scary ghost in the middle of the night, just to get a bottle of Pepsi. I liked the concept, but the way the video was made, lacked in proper execution of the concept. It could have been much improvised.
3. The Makers: These are the ads for #CrashThePepsiIPL challenge that are noticeable due to the good idea, their appropriate execution and presentation of the brand in the best possible way. The makers of these ads showed their professional excellence in every possible way, not to mention they have associated IPL/cricket with Pepsi.

In this ad, the camera work, the expression of the actors and the setting is superb. A tribal's bare back as the score board, the tribal tune and in the end the commentary in an alien tribal language, everything is done in a fantastic way. Out of all the advertisements I have seen, this one exceeds in the presentation.
This ad is also a very nice way of associating Pepsi with the cricket craze. The actor's expression is amazing. It has been able to garner the true spirit of IPL and Pepsi. Good job done
No matter how the ads were made, it is worth appreciation that non-professional individuals have taken their effort to come up with their creation. This is worth an applause and thanks to Pepsi for coming up with this task.
