Verdict on The Heretics
The Heretics is a horror thriller that follows a former cult victim whose life has been turned upside down. She finds herself targeted by the surviving members who want to complete the ritual leaving her in a deadly battle for survival.
This takes the typical cult movies and turns things on their heads. We have seen the lone build toward the cult rituals and the battle to survive. However, we rarely get to see the aftermath. By having the character trying to start a fresh life being dragged back into that world makes this interesting. It also doesn’t hold back on showing the horrors of what could be coming from that world. There are some good scares in this movie and the slow build to what could be happening keeps us guessing on the edge of our seats.
Final Thoughts – The Heretics has big scares and a great twist on cult movies.
