The Health Hopeful | Simple Ways to Reenergise Your Body

By Alyssa Martinez @ItsMariaAlyssa

There’s nothing worse than waking up in the morning ready to take on a new day, but then feeling yourself slowly drift off back to sleep from the moment you get out of bed. It’s not always easy getting everything you need from food, which is why stores like Mr. Vitamins can be a real lifesaver when trying to balance out what your body needs.

However, it’s not always food which can cause you to feel fatigued or worn out, so we need to explore the different reasons as to why we’re feeling so tired so early on in the day and make small changes to our everyday life to help reenergise our body and get us back out into the world, feeling full of life.

Exercise

We all know the physical benefits of exercise, but what about the mental? Exercise can actually help energise your body and put you in a better mood. Taking the stairs instead of the elevator, getting off the bus a couple of stops earlier, we all try to make little changes to increase our physical activity throughout our busy days.

However, even so much as putting aside 45 minutes to an hour a couple of times a week for a brisk walk and some muscle strengthening exercises can really help bring your body back to where you need it to be, not to mention getting those endorphins going so you can not only be awake, but in a great mood too!

stress

Stress

Stress is a universal feeling; everyone deals with it basically every day. But what most people probably don’t think about are the effects that stress can have on your body. It’s not always easy to eliminate stress from our lives, but being able to change the way you deal with stress could make a big difference.

Focus on what it is that’s stressing you out and take a moment to reflect on this, meditate on it even, and try to keep your breathing steady and your heart rate normal so you can come out of it feeling relaxed and proud of overcoming the situation.

Natural Ways to De-stress

Sleep

Not only do you need to mentally give your body a break, but your mind too! If you’re not getting enough sleep, your body is going to let you know throughout your day. A simple change in night time routines can help this, such as forgetting about electronic devices an hour before sleep, reading a book, or even meditation and yoga. Adults need to sleep in between 7-9 hours a night, and getting these well-deserved rests in each day can really keep you going from the moment you wake up; to the moment you get back to bed.

As well as the aforementioned needs, food does also play a massive part in how your body feels. Make sure your diet is balanced, healthy, and full of all the nutrients you need. Healthy doesn’t always mean expensive and organic, but just small changes such as taking your own lunch instead of buying from the tuckshop, or switching out some red meat for more vegetables, and of course adding that extra exercise into your daily routine can have a huge impact.

If you’re doing everything you can but are still feeling lethargic and exhausted, stop by your doctor to get a blood test and find out which vitamins and supplements can help you the most, it could be something so simple to fix that you didn’t even notice it was an issue. Your body loves you, but you need to work with it to feel happy and healthy, every day.
