You see all the names, the college hot shots, the NFL retreads for coaching jobs. I am going out on a limb and saying the coach I would choose would be the Defensive Coordinator of the Cinncinati Bengals, Mike Zimmer.
I watch this guy coach and in my non expert opinion, he just has the knack of getting the most out of his players. He seems to have a Bill Cowher edge with a little Tom Coughlan's strictness. He has a reputation for speaking his mind and perhaps that turns off NFL suits a little. But something about that guy screams successful NFL coach to me, his players like him but yet respect him. Its not a "Players Coach" situation where they like him but coast on him or tune him out. His personality is just too strong.
Anyway, if he's hired and he does well I will be sure to reference this, and if he's hired and bombs, Please delete this thread as I don't want to be called out on it! :D
Just kidding I was the person who famously said that Jason Pierre Paul would be an NFL bust and Brian Broehm (Louisville QB) would be an NFL All-Pro.
Conversely I said it was brilliant for the Redskins to draft Kirk Cousins of Michigan State this year because in 2 years some team would trade high draft picks to get him and the Redskins would recoup some of the lost picks of trading for RGIII. That prognostication is already paying off and could result in much more value in the future.

My point is, instead of coaching retreads, why not give a guy like Zimmer a shot? I thought he'd get one last year, maybe 2013 is his year?
Anyway a rare Bdeff football related post. Even more rare when I discuss a Non-Steeler issue, but I just think Zimmer has the coaching "it" factor.
