The Happiest Time of the Year!

By Mischieviousmum
Today is a magnificent day! The sun is shining and the sky is a beautiful blue. Finally, the weather feels as though we are slipping quickly into Spring. Only six days till Spring! This year Spring and Father’s day fall on the same day, so we are planning a fun day to celebrate here on the Coast. If you weren’t aware, Spring is my favorite season of the year. I look forward to our days becoming longer, and I look forward to saying goodbye to winter for another year. I know winter has its purpose, but I am a girl who loves Spring, and would love Spring to stick around all year round. Spring makes me happy and very hopeful. I dream of adventures, fun, family, friends, and catch ups. I want to be outside, near the water, picnicking and feeling free and easy to live happily doing whatever it is I want to do. The morning alarm will still go off, and the housework will still need attending too, the kids will still need drop offs and driving lessons, but I want to keep in mind that I am still in charge of the ‘moments’ in between the chaos, the parenting and the never ending ‘TO DO LIST’. I have come to realize that the idea of ‘FUN’ never happens if we don’t plan it. I want the kids and hubby to feel part of my campaign to have more fun, SO, I have started to talk about some ideas of what I would like to do over the warmer months, some of my ideas are date ideas for hubby and I to go on, others are related to what I would like to do personally (with or without others coming) and thirdly, some ideas are for all of us to take part in. One of J’s ideas is to go to the State Museum in Brisbane. The girls are keen to go as well, as long as they can also jump on a scooter and head over to the Queen Street mall and do some shopping. We will probably find out on the day if they are actually interested in the museum, or are they just interested in the shopping? Maybe hubby can take J to the museum, and I can find a lovely spot near the river to relax and read my book? The school holidays are fast approaching. Our ‘Go Cards’ are prepped to go, and we have a few ideas to start with relating to holiday fun. I hope we can actually make it all happen. The last term of the year can be full on, so we need the holidays to be a mix of fun, relaxation, and preparation. We have three more weeks of school for the term and before we know it we will be welcoming term 4, the very last term of the year. The term of presentation nights, end of year celebrations, Christmas carols, and family holidays. There are so many things to look forward to in the Summer months. Bring on the Fun! Till next time, XO
