Plot: The budding friendship between two very different neighbours takes a tragic turn when David runs over a young woman and causes her death.

Story: The Good Neighbour starts when journalist David (Kleintank) movies to a remote Latvian cabin for work with Grant (Davison). He meets his neighbor Robert (Meyers) who offers him friendship in the new country.
As the friendship grows, the pair are involved in an accident, killing a young woman. They look to cover up the accident only to find themselves caught up in the middle of the investigation with the victim’s sister Vanessa (Smyth).
Verdict on The Good Neighbour
The Good Neighbour is a thriller that follows two men that cover up an accident which saw a woman killed. This sees the unlikely friendship needing to be built up to cover themselves.
The Good Neighbour is a remake with the same director, it shows the slow building tension created by covering up an accident. Leading us down a path of secrets and lies that are designed to keep them out of jail. It never feels like there is enough going on within the film as not enough gets investigated about the crime itself.
The performances in the film are strong, but the lack of intensity for a thriller to put us on the edge of our seats.
Final Thoughts – The Good Neighbour is a slow-moving thriller.
