We miss live music, you miss live music, bands and artists miss playing live music - there's a whole lot of longing and yearning going on for live shows to get back on stage. To help get us through that, good Canadian boys, have swooped in with a new live album of rock and roll for all of us to enjoy.
"A little something to hold you over until we can get back on the road... SOS TOUR - Live in Vancouver out now in it's entirety." - The Glorious Sons via Facebook
The SOS Tour - Live in Vancouver (11/02/18) album includes 18 songs and clocks in at an hour and 41 minutes, making it feel like a real, full concert set. The setlist includes the band's biggest hits (up to that point in late 2018) Josie, White Noise, Kill The Lights, and the song that became their first #1 single in Canada and the US, S.O.S. (Sawed Off Shotgun).
But the best part, even better than those big hits, is that it's a full live concert show. It's not just an EP with big hits, it's essentially a double album and it's exactly what we'd hope for from The Glorious Sons and every other act. So, we tip our hats and give some love to the band for going that route.
And if you've seen The Glorious Sons live, close your eyes once in a while as you listen and imagine yourself back in the room, singing and screaming and having a hell of a time!

Those photos come from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on the War On Everything Tour (2020), the Parkjam Festival (2019), and The Opera House (2015). And we can't wait to see them again and add more photos to our library!
Another highlight of the live album release is the covers Fat Boy Slim's Praise You and The Rolling Stone's 1969 classic, Gimme Shelter. It's no secret that we love live covers and when they're well done (like these ones are) they can be super memorable and add big bonus points to hearing an artist you love playing the songs from their albums.
Note: lists the Gimme Shelter performance as well as Godless, Graceless And Young on the November 3rd setlist - but we're more than happy to let it slide because they are a lot of fun to listen to on this album.
The Glorious Sons are one of the (if not the) premier rock and roll acts in Canada right now - and the more songs they release, the more success they have here at home, in the United States, and around the world. The release of this album doesn't give us new songs, but it does remind us of why we're so into them, what we love about seeing them perform live, and that when the world gets back to some kind of normal, we'll be excited to see what they've got for us.
The songs on the album all sound great, giving a release worthy sound without being so polished that it doesn't sound live. The crowd adds the element we know and love from our favourite live records. And as the band's third live release ( Little Prison City (Live at Rogers K-Rock Centre) & Live at Longboat Hall), we hope it's not the last.
Also, as a little bonus, here's a video we found from the Commodore Ballroom of The Glorious Sons playing S.O.S. (Sawed Off Shotgun) in November 2018 on the SOS Tour.
