The Fountain of Life [ Fortnums ]

Waking up in our extremely comfortable bed ( I woke up lying out like a starfish ) I begrudgingly went for a shower, dressed and packed up my things. Having not been able to go to Le Truc Vert the night before we instead went for breakfast. Although my “softly boiled eggs” came rock hard solidly boiled eggs, our croissants, toast, butter and jams were heavenly. Those French seriously know how to do jams ( as well as butter ). I have to say I was really looking forward to my buttery soldiers and soft-boiled eggs so was a little disappointed when that wasn’t to be and as time wasn’t on our side we didn’t have long enough to wait for them to be re-done. The “plan” post-breakfast was : Fenwick > Burlington Arcade ( Lulu Guinness, Sermoneta Gloves ) > F&M for scent & glass of something > Broadwick Silks and then check time. Fenwick was frightfully disappointing ( always is when shops are reaching that final end of “sale” period ) but a little trip to Miu Miu soon sorted me and I can’t wait for our visit in August … Lulu Guinness was also a rather big success as well, ...
