The Family That Watches Basketball Together...

By Michelle Hernandez @Familylovesa
I am married to an athlete, a sports enthusiast, who is also an educator and coach. You know, as I write this, I think about how we became friends...we would keep seeing each other at our school sporting events. :)
Needless to say, sports have always been a constant in our lives and something that we share, enjoy and have included with our children's lives as well. Right now our twins are in their first season of basketball! So this year's college tournament is extra special!
The college basketball tournament is marked on our calendar, and as the main shopper in our home, I know exactly what I need to pick up for our tournament viewing. And as a busy, working mom, I also know that I can stop at a local Walgreens for the essentials!
My plan is to get off of work and stop at Walgreens. Two reasons: (1) Because I know there are about 5 locations on my path from work to kid's school to home. And (2) Because I know it is the most time efficient! I don't have to walk around a huge store and the check out lines are short!
And that's just what I did!
Coke Zero and Reese's at Walgreens #SnackMadness
First stop is to get some Reese's Pieces for some basketball cupcakes I want to make with my daughter. Then some Coke, Coke Zero, BBQ chips, popcorn (my son's favorite), chips & salsa (always!) and some juices for the kids! Everything that will last us for the first tournament weekend! Coke Zero and Reese's at Walgreens #SnackMadness I recently joined the Walgreen's Balance Reward program, but don't have a card yet. All I had to do was ask the cashier to look up the rewards card by my phone number and the points are in my account!

The entire trip took me about 10 minutes and I was off to get the kids from school. Check out my Google+ Photo Album to see the variety of snacks to choose from!
After some dinner, the #SnackMadness begins! Of course this can only happen on the second day of the tournament which is a Friday, so we can stay up a bit longer than normal.

I planned on making some cupcakes to celebrate and decorate them with a basketball shape using the small Reese's Pieces, but some time passed and my husband got a hold of them first! I think it was Florida Gulf Coast University upset over Georgetown that got him snacking!
Sorry I couldn't share our cupcakes, but there are plenty Hershey recipes using Reese's here!
Overall, another great family night together on the couch, watching sports together.
It's all come full circle for us!

Is your family like mine? #SnackMadness and basketball all weekend!
How did you all celebrate the tournament?
