The Estee Edit Beauties!

By Poorva @beautifuljrny

All my childhood, I have seen my mom and my aunts using and loving Estee Lauder makeup products. I was always fascinated with them but also had the impression that Estee Lauder’s makeup collection is more on the deeper side and its more sophisticated, classy and more suited for older mature women.

To cater to a younger consumer audience, they have launched The Estee Edit. And well, just look at these beauties!

To talk about first impressions, the products look just as classy as you would expect them to be, coming from the house of Estee Lauder.

It has 82(whaaaa!??!) products in the collection and is based on #BeautyAttitudes and categorised into 3 attitudes –

The Edgiest ; The Barest ; Go Glow

I received 4 products from this range, in a VoxBox by Influenster. I’ve talked about Influenster in a couple of my previous posts as well. If you haven’t already, you should totally check out Influenster here.

The packaging is white and blue. I feel its keeping in trend with all the white aesthetics going on with everyone’s instagram and tumblr.

I have been using these products for around a month now, and this is what I think of them so far.

So the products I’ve been using are these four –

First up is the Metalishadow crème + powder – this is such a cool product. It is a powder eyeshadow, but under the lid there is another compartment which has a crème eyeliner/shadow. And I love the shade I got – Black Star – black crème plus gunmetal/grey powder. These make for such a gorgeous smoky eye look, plus I love using crème/gel eyeliners with a thin brush. It goes on very smoothly.

It retails for $25.

Next is the Inside Track eye kajal

this is a dual ended eyeliner pencil. I got the shade Twisted Teal/ Tarnished Gold. Mine broke a little oops! I loveee colored eyeliners but I don’t use them so often and I always feel they go waste. But this one has 2 colors in one pencil, so each is less in quantity than a regular sized pencil. And I don’t have to worry about anything going waste.

It retails for $22.

Next is the Radiance Activator Treat + Prep + Glow

It’s a 3-in-1 serum, for brightening and hydration. like a tinted moisturizer, aimed at hydration alongwith giving a solid glow. It does have a lot of shimmer in it and I use it with a very light hand, to ensure not to overdo it. This is my least favorite of the 4, simply because it didn’t really suit my skin type. I have combination skin and this became too oily at some places and due to the shimmer, it highlighted the drier areas.

It retails for $55.

Last and my favorite product out of these – is the Late Night Eraser Brightening Eye Balm with Pink Peony

It is an eye cream, with a metal applicator. I loveeee such applicators, it is so cooling on the eye area, and works at instantly depuffing skin. This cream is very light weight, I have been using it every morning and it gives me an instant boost of hydration without even a bit of heavy feeling. But for night, I like to use something heavier. Overall, I love this and I’m going to buy a new one soon

😀

It retails for $42.

These all are available at Sephora.
