The newest video from Austin’s The Eastern Sea begins with a bold introduction: “A Fascinating collection traces the many means man has used through the centuries to measure the passing of his most precious possession — time.” Immediately following we’re drawn into a collection of black and white clips, all cataloguing the growth and advancement of man and industry through coordinated, resolute drum hits. As the footage continues to evolve, we’re shown moments of celebration, protest, victory and loss, all mixed with faces, both very well known and totally unknown. Everything continues building towards the still terrifying portrait of nuclear explosion, a strikingly contrasting backdrop to Matt Hines always gentle yet purposeful vocals.
