The Dangers of Artificial Intelligence

By Lisaorchard @lisaorchard1

Hello everyone, I hope all is well with you. I’ve had a busy week of work and writing. My cold is gone, but my youngest now has it. So, the virus made its rounds through everyone in the family. It’s cold again, and it’s snowing. But enough about that, I want to talk about this Artificial Intelligence business.

It has come to my attention that many authors have had their work pirated and used to train AI to write like them. This is copyright infringement, and I’ve heard of at least one class action lawsuit. So, I’m going to be watching to see what happens there.

But that’s not the worst of it. Insidious characters can use Artificial Intelligence in more devious ways. For example, politicians can create false narratives about their opponents. They can post a video of their opposition acting in a despicable manner on social media and in forums, and it will be construed as a true event.

This cuts deep. How’re we as the public ever going to know what is really true and what is a fabrication? This is dangerous. People in power can use AI to start unrest, riots, and wars.

We need to get a handle on this now. There must be some way to prove whether or not something has been artificially generated. If we don’t get a handle on this just imagine how confused the public will be when seedy politicians get their hands on this. They probably already have.

The thing that’s sad is we can’t even trust our journalists and news teams anymore because there is a political spin on everything. We can’t trust them to be whistleblowers like they have been in the past. So how do we solve this new problem? Leave a comment! I’d love to hear from you!
